Psychopharmacology

Our psychiatrists have a wealth of experience in psychopharmacological interventions and may also use medications “off-label” to treat psychiatric symptoms or to promote health and wellness as clinically indicated.

Medications commonly used are antidepressants, mood stabilizers, atypical antipsychotics, anxiolytics, psychostimulants, and hypnotics. We may also prescribe medication for cessation of the use of nicotine or other drugs of abuse. We are able to prescribe suboxone for detoxification and/or maintenance treatment of opioid dependence.

We are of the belief that a client will generally not achieve their best possible result through medication alone. We therefore strongly encourage all clients to receive a psychotherapy evaluation and potentially engage in ongoing treatment if clinically indicated.
