Adult Psychiatry
Our psychiatrists offer a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and expert consultation for individuals aged 18 and over with behavioral, emotional, and cognitive issues. This assessment will consist of a clinical interview with the psychiatrist, and will include a review of current medications and treatment, prior treatments and past records, consultation with family members when appropriate, and laboratory tests and referrals made to outside specialists when necessary.
An individualized treatment plan will be developed through a collaborative process to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. If the treatment plan should include the recommendation for psychopharmacological, i.e. medication, intervention, a discussion of the risks and benefits will be held, as well as any alternative treatments. Most likely, the treatment plan will be multidisciplinary in nature and often include psychotherapy.
